Thanks again mate, here is the result of my missus' working on the car on Sunday just gone; Engine first, then transmission. Over the next few weeks the final fuel lines, brake lines and misc gear will be stripped from the car, then it will be ready for some sort of blasting before rust repairs can commence... :'(

Guys, Thanks for the quick replies, I didn't even think of Kennards. Also, she is confident, and has the engine to a stage where the tailshaft just needs to be disconnected, and undo the transmission crossmember & engine mounts and then she is done. But if anyone is willing to give her a hand I'm sure she would be most appreciative of it.

For sale are a set of genuine 240Z L & R front seats, recovered by the previous owner - they are black in colour. Located in Canberra, inspections are welcome and invited. $300 ONO 5 Speed Transmission out of my 240Z, this was professionally rebuilt & prepped by a bloke called Lou Mondello down in Victoria, has less than 5,000 Kms on it. Will be removed from my 240Z in about 2 - 3 weeks time. No crunchy gears or the like. $750 ONO

Chris - Ill be back in April...ish. Well the vehicle will be getting a full respray, just want to take ahold of this rust before it turns the car into a POS. Turns out the firewall rust on the passenger side dosent go into the engine bay, goes into the wheel well.

One more teaser... although all this is useless without a top notch rust free body.

Gents, Although I am abroad for the next seven months or so, my Datsun 240Z has some cancer I need to get rid of sooner rather than later. The vehicle is completely stripped aside from the donk, the floors need replacing (I have new ones) and a section of the firewall needs replacing, as well as a section of the rear deck. All in all, not too bad, but would like to get it fixed ASAP so I can come home and work on other parts of it. If anyone knows of a suitable fabricator in the ACT Area please let me know. Will also be doing some chasis strengthening, and will pay good coin for the work to be done. Cheers.

Thanks for the input. Now that I have the interior all bown the bare metal almost, I can see what you are saying! I'm very new to Zeds and older Datsuns in general, but I can see the floors have been replaced, ad as you say, they appear to be well done. I cannot see any evidence of any other repairs - maybe you can? Thanks again, Im hoping I havent purchased a lemon of some sort though!! See everyone this afternoon I hope too.

On another note; here is how today started; Progress: Finished almost; Drivers side; Ive been lucky so far, no rust and it all seems to be the original floor...still heaps to go...

sounds like a good plan if all are interested. I can do all weekend as Ive got this week off to finish unpacking etc, and to start some quality work on the 240Z. If we come up with a day, we have the venue! Snags and beers/cokes etc ..or whatever
