  1. I stroked my 240Z many years ago and still have engine block, cam valves etc from the 260Z donor engine. I shan‘t be using them so if they would be of value to anybody in getting a car going, or in the disposal of the body of unwanted business competitors, I would be happy to pass them on I am in Olinda ( Melbourne ) I work 2 wks on:2 wks off, so availability is variable, but am generally pretty available in off fortnights Contact is zero four one nine three one zero one six five. Email watkina£mac.com I don‘t track this site regularly so please use phone or email BEst Wishes Andrew Watkins
  2. Update on luggage straps. Have found ( embarassingly close to home ) somebody who can do the SS bits by water cutting. In bulk. Should have ample stock of metal fitments in next month or so, after that I will be at the mercy of webbing contact, who should be quicker once he doesn't have to worry about things which are not on his patch ( i.e. metal bits ) Still no idea on price, but should not be ridiculous - I am essentially doing this to get one set for another 240Z and it seemed sensible to put it out to everybody, so I am basically wanting to cover costs , rather than retire on the proceeds. Main costs will be webbing labour and the (large) piece of SS which I shall have to buy to fit the machine. Not sure yet about cutting/ machining costs, but it is likely to be at mate's rates and will be spread over a largish batch. Web prices from USA are about $220-230 and I hope to do rather better than this Best Wishes Andrew
  3. Dear All I do not yet know price, as I have been dealing with somebody who, while an excellent tradesman, marches to his own drum. Sticking point has been his getting the metal bits made, he is an artist at webbing but must use other contacts for the mounts and buckles Purpose of my post was to gauge interest in getting a larger batch done and it is now clear that there is sufficient interest to make a batch of 5-10 fairly immediately usable by a variety of people. I now intend getting the drawings he has made and getting the mounts and buckles laser cut in stainless, then electro-polished, leaving only the webbing ( his strong point ) to be done by him. Would get laregr amount of buckles etc made so that full sets could then be made up on an as-needed basis in future. I have some contacts in the stainless world, but my main one is currently stranded in Rockhampton. Would welcome any suggestions as to good laser cutting places ( I am south east melbourne or Inverloch based ) Price would depend upon all of the above, but he did mine as a one-off for about 120.00 some time ago. Presume that larger batch would keep price moderate, although would need to factor in the fittings. Aim is to do it as service, not so I can retire on the proceeds, so should be moderate. Apologies for vagueness, but project is still in development stages. Andrew
  4. Am getting new rear luggage straps made for 240Z They are being made by an eccentric genius down in Gippsland, so delivery time may be an issue. He did a wonderful job on mine and I am considering having a batch made up - need one more set for another 240 and it seems more sensible to get a few made, as they significantly reduce the risk of being tranquillised by one's luggage. The straps photo degrade over time and lose their strength, so do need upgrade after 20 + yrs. The guy making them is an ex webbing tech from airforce who has done a lot of dive gear for me over the years and who does quality, durable work. Would help if I could have an idea of how many would be interested watkina@mac.com or 0419 310 165 Best Wishes Andrew
