Hey everyone, just a heads up on some parts which are for sale in case these particular parts are needed. Make an offer if I only get one offer you will prob get it not sure what worth but need to go to pay for bigger brakes, the fronts are a great upgrade set and did the job for Targa High Country. Rears I did Targa Tas with as well. Will sell parts seperately. The front right disc is warped and will have it machined if capable of saving, only $150 for a new one anyway. *****Turns out the disc is not warped, I had my mechanic check them out today and have a max run out of 3 thou on both. Our brake shudder seems to have come from dodgy wheel spacers, Disc thickness is 22mm which is the same as they are new....plenty of life left***** Rear Brake drums 260z (finned) within specs with SW Motorsport supplied competition lining on shoes. $50.00 #sold# Wheel cylinders brand new in Jan 2010) Brake Master Cylinder (15/16", new in Jan 2010) $20.00 #sold# Brake Booster (reconditioned Jan 2010) $70.00 #sold# Front Brakes for 280z/260z hubs, but can work with 240Z Hubs (hubs not for sale) Calipers - 4x4 Hilux (12+ $400.00 for complete set up #SOLD# - 4 piston with spacers between halves to allow for vented discs - also machined out to allow for discs - spaced out from strut mounting to avoid wheel binding - Discs - DBA919 with new holes drilled for hub mounting and correct PCD - All machining carried out in a professional machine shop - Comes with a partly worn set of ferodo ds3000 series pads and a brand new set (already modified to suit, worth about $200 a set) Will have two sets of lightweight japanese rims with kumho semislicks with enough rubber for a couple of trackdays left for sale soon as well. They are the ones in the photos on my car now. ****Not sure what happened to the photos, they are correct on my iphone but turn upside down once uploaded****

System is a 2.5in, no mufflers just a straight through resonator near the end, the pri and secondaries on the extractors I am unsure of size, they will set you back 1k, SW motorsports sweetest set for a decent HP L28. Here is a link to a lap of WP on the pedals...

Link below is the sweet sound of the exhaust supplied by Liverpool exhaust and a set of SW Motorsport Ceramic headers, around Wakefield Park. Enjoy!!

Hey Mate Its a Gopro, you get a suction cup attachment with the kit if you buy the gopro for vehicle racing kit, as well as other stick on pads, the front one looking onto the front suspension is zip tied on though, best get them on ebay from the states, alot cheaper as usual than here. I will post some more raw video of each lap in each position so you can hear the car on the team legacy assist channel on you tube.

Here is the link to a video I put on youtube from the track day last week. We achieved what we needed to in terms of the times we were after from completing some mods - and that was with a warped front disc ,average tyres and a slipping clutch - you would be able to hear it if youtube didnt stuff me around, sorry about the music but it suppressed original music and had to pick from their file and so it cut out the audio from the footage, I nearly gave up on it!!! If link doesnt work search team legacy assist channel.

Yeah mate speed off the street, I am heading down Wednesday now as things went fairly well today. Yeah its a pincher paying to use the track for a day but I dont have much choice.

Today we fitted the hood vents, attached photos of some grinding and the fitted product. Also one of the boys pressurising.... the fuek tank after we ran out of fuel on the dyno, its never failed to pick up before but this time it didnt want to play the game and pressurising worked. Tommorow we will be bracing the new front spoiler and dropping some weight from the car - for example we have a 17Kg heavy duty Oddyssey Bty at the moment which will be replaced by a 2Kg battery. We dont take ourselves to seriously and Now that we are competitive with the new engine we will start looking at little things like this. Venting inspection covers started today and that is messy business with an angle grinder and needless to say they will become a satin black now once I have finished removing metal from them. Track day now on Wednesday if anyones heading down? have some different rims to try with a shallower offset ugly looking things but will be interesting to see if any difference with a wider stance.

Hi All The Legacy Machine will be making an appearance this Thursday at Wakefield Park - thought I would let everyone know in case anyone was planning a track day soon. Would be good to meet some forum members in person. Of course I need some moons to align but I reckon a 90% chance of getting there. Will post again if things start going not to plan Mon or Tue after some Dyno time. Will keep you posted.

Yeah cheers, that would have cost me some dollars, you can appreciate it didnt cost anything to send back to melbourne to be redone. Its good to know in the future though if I get stuck down there. Appreciate your offer.

The big end bearing on this was starved of oil from a blocked oil gallery in the crank. They think that the solution used in Nitriding left a small particle in the gallery and when heat and oil combine with this it turns to a sludge - blocking oil flow, it definately looked like that apparently when the engine was pulled down. So this happened the Sunday night a week before Targa starting this year in Launceston. I rang the owner of HM Gem Engines and he said to get the engine back to Melbourne and to his Dandenong plant. There were no available spots for a car back to melbourne on the ferry on the monday so we went on the wait list and the only ferry back with room was on the Thursday night. The mechanics pulled the engine out put it in the service vehicle and managed to get a spot from the wait list on the Monday night. Arrived 7am on the Tuesday morning and drove straight to Dandenong to pull it down - had 3 days to do it all and back on the ferry on the thursday night. We didnt have a balanced crank after this but we had an engine that was running so cant complain. The engine went in on the Friday. Ran it in on the Saturday, did a track day on the Sunday and Scrutineering on the Monday - no sweat!!!

Cheers mate "Sexual_sushi" the car didnt get as much air time as one would like but hey we got the message across about the trust and thats all that matters I guess. Damiens the draw card there and anything on the side is always good. For those who didnt see it the segment was aired on the 7PM Project on the 15th of December - that is the best way to search for it when on the projects website in past stories, check it out!!!! The photo below is on the way to launceston from the spirit of tasmania about 7 days before the start of targa - about 12 hours later there was a massive failure of the engine!!

A set of 260z Hood Vents arrived today. Should do the job in the Carbon Fibre Bonnet when made. Last Rally I had a massive heat soak issue with the new engine and higher temps than Tasy. I have since also installed some heat shields to each Carb that you may be able to see in one of the last photos and a few other mods to come. For about 1Km at the start of every Targa Stage it would run like a mule until cool air had flushed through the engine Bay, didnt help the cause obviously! I am running a continuous flow like an EFI system from tank through fuel rail and back at 3 PSI so always nice cool fuel.

There are many ways, and let me say I am no mechanic and usually am an assisting bystander. Plugs out for sure and fuel off so you arent dumping fuel in the bore. A towel helps and if you have poured that much oil and cranked it for that long that oil starts spilling out of head then you prob need to look at a different way to get oil pressure. You are just trying to keep lobes and lash pads lubed and hope the vas in the oil pump does the job. There is the disy off and dissy shaft method until you get oil to flow from "all" Cam oil galleries. There would be alot of gurus on here that could help - I know pretty much zero compared to most on here about these things. That there is a big dollar motor - and anxiuos times when watching that process - if I had a clunker I might give it a crack myself...maybe
