  1. Hi mate, the biggest issue with the standard stroker setup is the rod ratio. The deck height really isn't high enough to give you a decent rod ratio with an off the shelf piston. With the run of the mill setup using the 133mm rods, you get about 1.6:1 which is shit. If you can get your hands on the ld28 block you are in business as it's got another 20mm deck height so you can run something like an l20b rod or even a modified chev rod. The only other option would be custom made forgies with a pin height of about 25mm, this way you could run a 3sgte rod without too much fuss. Big throttle plates are a must, I would say 48mm minimum, preferrably 50mm. No carbs, if you are serious. Just my thoughts on the matter.
  2. The hit in the rear wasn't too bad, just poorly repaired. The overall level of rust in the car was of concern to me, as there were small bubbles coming up all over the car. I got the impression that if you bead blasted it you would end up with something that looked more like swiss cheese than a datsun. This is common for japanese vehicles of this age that have had a very poor prep job done prior to a repaint. I got the impression that price was negotiable, but now that he has had the work completed to get it up to RWC, he was under the impression that it was worth $10K. IMHO I think a really good 260z 2 seater is worth that, not a rust bucket. Perhaps I think people tend to ask too much for these cars, but I still wouldn't pay much more than $4k for it.
  3. Don't waste your time looking at this if you want a good body. I went to have a look at it when it was advertised on this forum. It looks good from a distance but it's had a hit in the left rear that has been poorly repaired, rust under the fuel filler, front left guard is full of rust and the respray that was done on the vehicle must have been completed at a sheltered workshop. Having said that if you were willing to take the risk it's very original, just has a pretty average body. I would pay $4k for it at the most.
  4. Yes I have the R200 still Yes I have the bonnet latch Yes I have the 1/4 badges Please PM me if you are keen, I don't check this site very often.
  5. Too slow, the car is now at the tip. The only parts left are the r200 and half shafts. Fortunatley Joel turned up to take the rest of the stuff, otherwise it would have all been crushed!
  6. If I pull that stuff out the doors will be pretty much junk. If you want to pay the full price for the doors you can have the chrome and the other bits.
  7. Loom no computer. All accesories.

  17. I am parting out a 2+2, has fairly good doors, good hatch, pretty good 1/4 panels, steering rack. That's about it for the good stuff. Has aircon. R200 and halfshafts ok. Does not have any suspension parts, engine parts, trans parts, tail lights, headlights. interior. All parts very cheap, melbourne only no postage. Pick up before next weekend as it is going to the crusher. PM or email komdotkom(at)hotmail.dot.com
  18. I would love to put an LS1 in however I rate the t56 as one of the worst gearboxes I have ever driven. Although they hold the power without an issue, they shift like a top loader. If I could use an R33 gearbox with an LS1, I would do it. I have been looking at 3UZ's in japan, 4.3 liter, and they seem pretty cheap. Just add a blower. I had my heart set on the vk56 conversion until I had a look at this http://www.flzclub.com/vk56de/ It's just too large for the engine bay.
  19. I have one from a 2+2, in Melbourne.
  20. Ok I will take the exhaust system. Can you pm me your number and I will give you a call. I can have it picked up from dandy. Cheers.
  21. Thanks Lurch, got any installed engine bay pics? I suppose if I fit a 1uz I won't be needing that engine x member I got off you last week, oh well. Any news on the R3x front end conversion?
  22. Hi I was just wondering if anyone had seen a 1uz conversion in a zed before? The pics I have seen of the vh/vk45 setups look a little tight for my liking so I thought the Toyota engine might be a good option. Also cheap, easy to get and strongish. Anyone seen it done? Cheers Mal
