Just received notification that my application to compete at the HRCC event at Norwell (Holden Driver Training Centre) has been accepted, anyone else entered? It is schedule for this Sunday the 23rd September.

Cheers

Car has been too busy sitting on stands, I plan to do a run at Norwell soon though. Might even jump on the next Hardtuned day.

Have a ball Peter, it looks like some fun.

I didn't think they allowed "anti-social rotaries" at this circuit ;D

Have fun & don't forget to tune the radio to Masterchef 8)

They must be trying to step up in the social classes, and I only listen to the classics these days "Carmen" is my pick at the moment.

Oh, c'mon, harden the f### up, you were not the slowest!!!

Well done

Howsabout a bit of a event report and write up from your perspective?

There were a couple of Z's running, Jon Siddens pulled out after first run!

This event may run again next year, how were the feelings/thoughts from the competitors??

Well my thoughts on the event are:-

Even though the track is very flat it is still quite tricky, there were a few who had an off track experience at turn 3 and I nearly had one at turn 7 which is where the start and finish line is, this turn is very long and sweeping so it needs to be treated with a deal of caution. There are no carports and the competitor area is quite restricted. All the competitors there on the day seemed to enjoy the event, main complaint was the time spent sitting in the car waiting for their turn to have a run, because shaded areas are very limited. Regards the other competitors, all were very friendly and there was a very interesting range of vehicles, most were quite modified, track vehicles. But there was also a group of less modified street cars. I believe that the number of competitors was excessive, 96 were listed but several were no shows so in all there were about 90 vehicles. A better number would be around 70 and also each session could be up to 5 or so laps and not the 3 laps we had at the HRCC meeting.

Main point it was a good event for newbees and for testing cars before a big event elsewhere. I would be happy to do it again, good close track, any track time is worthwhile.

Cheers

Peter
