Z. Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Hey so I'm just starting to get serious with my project and I'm chasing a couple of parts still.. If anyone has or could point me in the right direction that would be great So what I'm after: **(Manual transmission FS5W71B (just bellhousing if possible) and FS5W71C (complete) **Metal trim that goes above Pic attached.. for the left side rear quarter window on 280zx 2+2 **P90 head (I know it's hard to find but I would appreciate if someone has one they're not using, it will go to a good home!) **240/260z front seats **240/260z front bumper indicator Thanks! Riceburner Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I have a spare gearbox and seats from my 77 jap import 2+2. I'll have a look at it on the weekend to make sure it's complete, what sort of condition you after? Quote
Z. Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 Thanks for the response mate.. Umm with the gearbox not too bothered, I want to put the 71c internals into it so as long as the housings all good really. And with the seats as good of condition I can find them in but I'll take whatever I can get really PMed Quote

If you use the 71C gearing, you have to ream out the counter-bearing hole too If you use the SR20 box, the shifter comes up in the perfect spot but have to shorten the tail shaft, if you use the RB20 box, you use the same tail shaft but have a shifter that hits the dash. both require fabricating a new gearbox mount Quote

I did read your write up on hybrid z. Very easy to understand, thanks. Well is it likely to find someone who will sell just the bellhousing? As it is all I need... If anyone is happy to just sell a bellhousing feel free to chime in Quote
Whittie Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I bought my bell housing for $20 I think, certainly not much more. Also, I'm biassed, I think the.sr20 is the most proper option, but the rb20 works well and you can modify the shifter, but it needs a lot of adjustment to get it to come up right, so I went the sr20 route Quote
