pjren Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Hi Guys Won this on EBay but had to go from Melbourne to near Port Maquarie to get it. It has been stripped down completely 10 years ago but reassembled temporarely as a rolling chassis It looked OK especially as the floor has no rust other than surface rust but after removing all the bog from the rear.... well you can see by the photos! pjren Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 The only major rust forward of the doors is the air intake. It will have to be cut out and rebuilt. I priced a pair of rear lower quarter repair panels from ZCarSource fro $60 each but they wanted $221 to post them...no thanks! So it looks like I will have to make them myself. Quote
pjren Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Not much left on the lower left quarter after all the rusted metal has been cut out! Quote
Scoota G Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Looks like you're on top of it. I used a piece of roof skin to graft in the same area. Quote
oldzguy Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 It's like looking at my own car repair pics, same original colour, same rust damage. doing a good job, keep pics coming Quote
pjren Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 A piece of roof Scoota? That's a novel idea. Unfortunately I don't have a spare roof lying about! I am in the process of making a 'forming jig' to make the panel pieces myself. I will post a photo when I finish the jig. I will only post a photo of the finished piece if it looks good!! Quote
