Scottz Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 http://www.wimp.com/tiniestengine/ Watch a Master at work. Share and enjoy....... This is not CNC technology; this guy made everything at home on his lathe and drill press. Took 1220 hours (a year and a half?) to make the 261 pieces. Note the end-loaded crankshaft into the block (like an Offy), 12 individual cylinder heads, TINY rods and pistons, dual "underhead" cams with pushrods to rockers in the heads. And, he did break-in runs using an electric drill driving the crankshaft! Quote
RB30X Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Thats amazing isnt it. We were watching this at work the other night. Where is the throttle? Quote
nizm0zed Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 If its deisel, it doesnt need a throttle, you adjust the amount of fuel fed into it to change the RPM Quote
sydney mike Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Absolutely amazing effort and skill, can you imagine......."darling wife, do you mind if I build a L6 in the kitchen"? But are you sure it's running on diesel? Compressed air? Quote
Six_Shooter Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 1220 hours is just over 152 days, if he worked for 8 hours a day on it. More patience than I have. Quote
Johnboy Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 only 51 days if you go without a break!! nice job! Quote
