hey iv got a walbro pump im stickin into my 280, the pump originaly off a vl turbo ive encountered a couple of un certanties, it doesnt have any indication as to the direction of flow, im assuming its inlet is the terminal side and 280s dont have a low pressure in tank pump as i think most other efi cars do, will the new pump suck fuel or do i need a priming pump? any knowlege be much apreciated.

cheers fellas

to add to that, there is also a LOT of fake chinese Walbro's on the market, They are an identical copy, even down to the colour of the plastic end cap bit.

The bit where they arent a copy is the flow figures, they are around 20% lower than a genuine one.

ahh you could be right about the fake part, i didnt buy the pump from a shop it was out of a vl turbo my friend crashed which ran well but who knows where it actually came from. If it is a knock off funny they forgot the flow direction part. I'll just buy a genuine one turbos dont like runnin lean.

cheers fellas

Last pump I removed from a VL was a Bosch unit about the same size as an ignition coil. Low pressure ends have usually a larger hose fitting than the high pressure side.

On the (genuine) external Walbro the inlet and outlet are the same size.

On a genuine Bosch pump that comes in all VL Commodores, in is larger than the out. I wasn't referring to Walbro pumps that must've been installed in that car.

your 100% right about the inlet outlet sizes in the vl but i unscrewed em ages ago to use for sumthing else so i cant identify from that unfortunatly.

I fit it up last night so i could move the car and it was pushing fuel in the right direction so it is flow toward terminal. not getting any meaningfull line pressure tough i think the pumps stuffed sitting around too long maybe
