Just in case anyone needs a PBR Replacement slave cylinder (much better option than using a repair kit as it costs less than $20).

 

PBR JB4055 is the number you need.

 

Apparently, the cross reference book no longer includes Datsun 5 speed tranny and requires inside knowledge of an older parts guy to get the right part.

 

Prick of a job to get to, suggestion to anyone who needs to replace the slave (hard to change gears, crunching etc are all symptons of seals failing in the slave) is to remove the entire unit including the oil line from the master then remove slave from transmission cover.

Bolt slave up in vice, find a 3' long ratchet to lossen the line from the slave, replace and fitup. Bleed and guess what...no crunch (also no fluid leak)..
