DatPilot Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 My brother is bolting turbo goodies onto his L24e R30 Skyline, Wondering what exhaust fanimold studs to use? I suggested NOT to use stainless, as they seem to 'corrode-chemiweld' into the alloy head. Have seen copper washers and nuts. Are they of any benefit (especially if needing to remove at some time in the future?) Also wondering what you all use for a sealant, I have seen a few different high-temp rated ones, but unsure of what works.... Quote
Scando Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 We just used standard studs but we used the copper washers and nuts you mentioned. The copper nuts are a lot more friendly to use after they've been hot. Quote

peter t Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 If you want to use stainless, go to an outboard motor {boat} place and buy the special anti seize they use on outboard motors. Stops the reaction between alum and stainless. Quote
