luvemfast Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Thinking of fitting an AFR in the Z for the new PMC race motor. Will be a great tool for tuning the Carbs Was looking at these digital ones. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTXL.php there are 2 different types, both US$199 http://www.aemelectronics.com/wideband-o2-air-fuel-uego-gauge-kit-745 US$210.90 What have people used and recommend? These seem reasonably priced, but is it what I'm after? Any interest in a group buy for discount? Quote
Six_Shooter Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Take a look at the SLC from www.14point7.com. The SLC_DIY and SLC_Pure Plus both have a built in display, extra inputs for logging just about anything, including manifold pressure, EGT, fluid and air temps, etc. The SLC_Pure Plus 2 adds in onboard datalogging memory. I own both the SLC_DIY (version 1, NLA) and the Innovate LC-1, I prefer the SLC. Currently I have the LC-1 installed in my 240, but plan to swap it out soon for a 14point7 offering, either another SLC_DIY (v2) or an SLC_OEM, since I really don't need the extra features of the SLC_DIY, since I log AFR through the onboard diagnostic datastream of the ECM I am using. DatPilot Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 How about supporting our Australian businesses? http://wbo2.com/default.htm "....Tech Edge develops software and hardware solutions! In particular, we design, manufacture & sell wideband oxygen sensing equipment and host the WBO2.COM web site. We've been around for around 25 years, and have contracted our services to small, large, local & multinational organisations. In the last 5 years we have concentrated on the WBO2 range...." particularly: http://wbo2.com/2j/default.htm Quote
luvemfast Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 How about supporting our Australian businesses? Yes, agreed. I will also be contacting some local suppliers. I'd prefer to support Aussies. But at the end of the day, its $100 cheaper than what you posted Quote
Jason89 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Ive got a tech edge wideband, had it for a few years and never had a problem, ive got the sensor mounted in a piece of pipe so i can use it as a tuning tool in any vehicle. It reads identical the $2000 autronic wideband we were using on the dyno. A few years back when i bought it, i couldnt find a cheaper complete kit on the market, obviously things are a little different now. Quote
luvemfast Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 I had some money in my Paypal account so ended up buying the AEM 30-4100 unit after reading some less than impressive reviews on the Innovative MTX-L. $187 delivered, plus it looks better IMHO http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/230547585028?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Will also use it to tune dads Scuderia stroker if and when he ever gets back from holidaying Quote

DatPilot Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 I must say the US ebay ones are actually really good prices, some even offer free shipping too! I kinda thought to justify the extra $100 its almost like a 'warranty', if it craps itself or something breaks, you can call the aussie fella and tell him all about it and all that jazz. If it was in the USA, it would be a pretty long drawn out process. Quote
Aaron Neubauer Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I don't know about the gauges but avoid i\Innovate LM2! I can't for the life of me get it to log RPM so matter what conditioning I do to the ignition signal. Having said that the O2 function on the LM2 is reasonably quick so I would imagine the gauge would be similar or better. The wideband seems accurate too....it tells me that my off throttle cruising AFR is 17:1...thanks to the crappy location of the progression circuit holes on DCOE152's.... There is also Jaycar DIY options and using a commonly found 3 or 4 wire O2 sensor. Quote
