Mark

You are creating a new post every time you want to ask a question, no need to LOL

Just continue a single thread and add to it.

There was an imported 240Z that sold last week, and a fairly long thread about it, you may want to read it.

hey mark i was just in your vote. i bought a z a week ago. 260z 2+2. looked around for awhile got an alright one for $4k. i love it but at the tender age of 17:P the more i look at it the more stressed i get. im comign to realise it wont be as easy as i first thought. luckily you have these guys to help.

ill take some pictures today of what i purchased (of a car that isnt a total wreck nor a show room piece) so you can have somethign to compare it to.

also importing cars aparently isnt the best idea. the gov has heavy tax's on it or something ontop of shipping etc. that and you wont be able to get a reall picture of the car till it arrives.

rember though dont hold me on my words. im very new lol

Hi,

November last year I spoke to Ben Lippa at J-Spec Imports regarding the idea of importing a zed from Japan and popped the question about an S30.

www.j-spec.com.au

Ben's got a lot of experience with imports to Australia.

I asked about importing an S30 and his response was ..."I think for an S30 we probably won’t be able to help you, even pretty average condition cars in Japan cost what would work out to be over $20,000 landed in Australia… they just hold their value so well over there.  I would have thought for that sort of money you can get something decent in Australia?".... unquote.

When I pressed a little further he explained he had looked into it a few years before.

I then thought - hey what about reverse. Like if they are worth more over there, then export S30 from Aust to Japan. He told me he had looked into that also whilst living in Japan when the Yen was very low and S30's are worth more than S31's in Japan . But no interest was shown and no buyers.

Check out the j-spec website and you'll know what he's talking about.

Regards.
