Sorry guys not the best subject heading.. :P

I am now starting to put panels on my car and I was wondering what I should do with raw metal panels, while I work on the rest of the car.

I am slowly working around the car stripping panels and fixing rust and dents. I was thinking a light coat of primer or etch primer that I can sand back later when the entire car is done.

Any thought would be appreciated.

Thanks

Read my tutorial, if you are doing bare panels that you want to return to and do filler work to later EP epoxy primer is your best bet, ask REV who has also used it.

No need for etch primer, just straight EP

Just make sure you keep the panels away from direct moisture like rain etc.

Thats way as you finish each, you just prime them and store them.

Thanks John I have read your tutorial. I just wasn't sure if I would be wasting my time doing a final prime if they were going to sit there for a while. Sound like it is the right thing to do. Thanks again. I will have to puck up some primer.

As you in Melbourne I would have no problem dropping by and showing you how to do 1 panel.

Thanks John. That is a very generous offer. I would love to take you up on that at some point. I think I am still a couple of weeks off. Once I get my rear quarter fixed a welded back on, that would be a great panel to work on.

Thank Matt

No problems,

You may want to think about opening it up as a partial workshop so some other members could see the process? if it isn't an inconvenience ?
