wildy55 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Chaps, need a bit more power and better pedal feel from the old girl. Seems like the R33 booster is a popular upgrade. Do I need the master cylinder as well or just the booster. And does it need to be from a R33, or can it be R31 or R32? Not looking to rip the tarmac up just a little extra. What other cheap(ish) brake mods are out there? Quote
DatPilot Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 None are really 'cheap' as you still should rebuild calipers and get new pads and rotors (or machined) The Hilux caliper conversion is found everywhere on this forum, I'd start there as there are no custom caliper brakets required, so you'll likely save some dosh there. wildy55 Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Anybody wanna put me straight on the Skyline booster? Do I need the booster and master cylinder or can I get away with just the booster? Cheers Quote
Wayne G Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Best bang for small buck will come from hilux calliper conversion with 15/16" master cylinder. The R33 booster conversion will cost a small packet for engineering etc.. and you will still need to upgrade the callipers to get the benefit. Hilux callipers, bigger master, good pads and fresh rotors, good shoes, cylinders and drum machine in rear with good fluid and you will be more than happy and have money left over for fuel! Also easily achievable with minimal skill and tooling. Quote
