RB30X Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Guys, I found a local XJ sitting in a shed today that someone wants to get rid of for cheap. Like the change in your wallet type cheap. The body is covered in an inch of dust but I managed to find out it's a 77 model and it has 5.3L badges which i think means it used to have a v12. This v12 probably needed new spark plugs one day and it was cheaper to transplant a v8 in it. Apparently chevs were a popular swap. The interior looks ok for how old it is. I guess my question is would it be worth buying to strip and sell parts from or try and get it running and sell it as is. I don't really want another project but it just looks so sad sitting in that shed. I don't know much about old jags but from what I've learnt this arv they aren't worth much. What do you guys think.? Scoota G Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 A mate picked up a series 2 for $800 in premo condition but with a V8 conversionI'd add another $1500 abouts. The Jag itself is worth stuff all but as a going concern may suit a collector or enthusiast. Quote
