260Z RB conversion SA

I live in South Africa and have recently purchased a 1975 Datsun 260z 2+2. The car has been off the road for many years and was shot blasted down to the metal by the previous owner. There is a ton of rust on this machine, but we thinking of using composites and high strength fiberglass to fix most of the areas. We are keen to purchase a R33 half cut and convert most of the parts to fit including engine, gearbox, wiring loom, radiator, inter cooler and brakes. Will the R33 brakes work on the standard S30 front setup and how much modifying will be needed?

 

I'm selling the complete L26 and gearbox if anyone is keen to buy it (or any other parts).

I will keep you guys updated with the build and what decisions we make regarding how to go about it.

Since we running an RB25 DET, would a subaru WRX diff fit right in or what would we need to make it work?

I have also heard that the rear brakes of a ford focus or VW golf can work on the rear, has anyone tried this? or what would be the best parts on a tight budget?

Subaru diff's can fit, but you will need custom axles to install. As for the rear brakes, a popular conversion is the setup from a R31 Skyline disc/caliper and mounting bracket. With some modifications to the bracket, its a bolt-on conversion.

With selling parts from SA to here, freight would be a killer!

We will definately be running with the R31 rear brakes. The wishbones on the rear suspension are totally finished, what do you reckon would be the best alternative for these?
