vlad Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Hi guys, as i've mentioned before, im looking at a 240Z in Perth. After seeing the car in pics and sending a friend to have a look at it in flash, i have made a succesful offer. So you could say im a proud owner of a 1971 240Z. the problem is paying the current owner. I dont want to risk nor to make the owner feel uncomfortable. i've heard of custodian services for internet transactions. they basically take the money and release it only when the freight company receives the car. does anyone know of a safe and relatevely cheap way of makeing everyone happy in this situation?! i've check the webpage of VIP services (not sure about the name) and they charge $225. something a bit cheaper would be good. cheers, Vlad Quote
Huw Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 is it the green one in perth? if so i believe he's quite well to do in the club over there.... maybe I'm being naive but a bank cheque and someone's word (esp. club member) might be ok... but it depends on what you are comfortable with. Even better go over there and drive it back :-) [speeding fine may make it more expensive tho!] Quote
vlad Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 speeding fines and air fare will total up into one nice figure, so thats out of the question. Its not the green one, but the owner is a member of WA. im thinking a bank cheque with a slightly substantiated word will do the trick here. cheers, Vlad Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Haydens Green 240z is sold (aparently to someone in Perth). Is that the Yellow 240z you are buying? I bought a car from Adelade a few months back. I paid the money direct to the sellers bank account and arranged for TNT vehicle logistics to pick up the car from the sellers house, and drop it off to my house in perth. Apart from the 3 week delay (TNT are backed up sending cars to Perth) couldn't be easier. If I was selling a car I wouldnt let anyone take the car away untill the money was in my bank account. Sometimes you just have to trust someone. You can alway call the cops if you pay and dont get the car. Quote
