RB30X Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Hi, just a quickie. Can you purchase new rubber/felt inserts to go inside the top of the door frame where the door glass sits up inside. I hope you know what I mean by that. Cheers Quote
Scoota G Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Me be thinkin they be the Bailey Channels. (really have to stop the pirate talk, lol) https://rsp-secure.com/rarespares/default.asp?car_type=34A&model=DATSUN 240Z 260Z Quote
. Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Eyeeee, Me be thinking you need to stop too.....or its off the plank with yee. hmmm, well I haven't done it but I know what you mean. They are just felt with some sort of wood or firm cardboard stapled on. It would be easy enough to make replacements. But you either need a stapler strong enough to penetrate the metal part at the top of the door cards or you need to glue them on. The other question is what to use for the material to support the felt? I'd be tempted to modify one from another car. IE shorten one form a 280zx or something. Quote
maddos Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 The bailey channel I got from Clarke Rubber which they source from someone else but they list a style for the zeds which matched really well. As for the bit Galderdi is talking about, I replaced that on one set of my door trims. can't rememeber where I got the whisker strip from but may have been clarke rubber as well. As the staples they use are those really heavy duty ones and I couldn't replicate, I pop riveted them onto the door card and then just had to trim the rear of the rivet off so it didn't foul on the top lip of the door when fitting. Worked good. Quote
