240z Factory Paint Finish

Can anybody tell me if the factory painted the radiator support's black on the front leading edges, and inside the headlight area?

 

I have seen many cars with the front area blacked out, so you can't see the colour when looking at the car front on. We were planning on doing this to the brown hornet, but on looking at several seriously restored 240's they do not appear to have this treatment, but instead stick with the factory colour over the whole car.

From what I've seen and heard, that area was hand brushed black.
