260Coupe Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Hey Guys Has anyone done any dyno testing on triple manifolds particulary Independant Runner versus balanced runner design ?? (balance tube connecting all six runners) I have been playing on the chasssi dyno again and trying out various cams and exhaust lengths (secondaries) and will be comparing a Cannon balanced manifold to a Nissan Motor Sport IR manifold shortly. luvemfast Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Has this happened yet Alan? Would be interesting to see some results Quote
260Coupe Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 Hi Simon Yep I swapped out the Cannon balanced manifoild for the Datsun Competition independant runner manifold and we dyno'd. Result on chassis dyno - Little/No repeatable difference in power ! Result on road test - as anticipated, as the brake booster was only getting vacuum off one cylinder, the brake suffered at low rpm...........toodling around in a car park in 1st gear with multiple stops caused the brakes to lack suuficient boost to be effective..........multiple hard stops also suffered from lack of boost. Now these results were on my engine........that is not to say that the IR manifold may prove to be beneficial on a full blown, big cam race engine ?? Quote
luvemfast Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Good to know as I run a cannon manifold and don't have a super dooper hot engine, yet. Quote
