garvice Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Guys, made a change to the Tacho. Not typing it twice, so read about it here http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1099864#post1099864 Quote
sexual_sushi Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Looking good brad. Few more tweeks and we'll get there The good thing is that doing this made me get off my arse and digitalise the tacho, so when I get a bit cashed up I'll run some tests on aluminium as a "replica stock" replacement. Ie would look original to pretty much everyone but if you had a keen eye at a concourse show, it wouldn't be ideal. Not sure how viable this idea is though as aluminium is quite expensive. I'll obvisouly post some pics whenever I get around to doing the tests. Ps don't be hating the sushi Quote
sco_aus Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I have the same tacho, I also had the same problem of not being able to read it, same with my VDO speedo, but I can see the 200kmh mark which is all i care about Quote
garvice Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 You couldn't read the standard tacho or the VDO tacho? I could read the VDO one great, really really clear. Quote
sco_aus Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I mean the steering wheel was in the way, so the guage needed to be rotated. Sorry, I should have given a better description Quote
sexual_sushi Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Version 3 off to the printer tomorrow. I'll see if I can get those matte tests done as well. Quote

Sorry, I should have given a better description Understood, now that I have new seats in (which are a little lower and a bit different angle) I can actually read the speedo again. But then I am only 5"10. Version 3 off to the printer tomorrow. I'll see if I can get those matte tests done as well. Cool, can't wait, we are almost there. Quote
sexual_sushi Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Damn! Looking good Brad. Happy? I still think you should go for white light, but that's just me It does look nicely lit. How'd the blinkers go? Quote
garvice Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Forgot to post a photo. Used two pieces of transparency behind the photo this time, so they are a lot more defined. Also put better light barriers in the tacho. Just went out and took a photo just for you Shaun (feel special?). The green might be a tad dark, but I don't really car just now. Don't think I will fix it for a while. Quote
garvice Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Wouldn't look stock with white light. Quote
