S30Mike Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Well.. A guy at my work brought in his drag mustang and tryed to park it in the garage. First of all, the diff got stuck on the driveway REAL good upon trying to enter. We attempted to push it free with no luck. We managed to get a trolley jack and jack it up, however the garage is on a down ward slope so we were still unable to push it back out. They got some wooden planks and put them under the rear tyres to try and drive back up like ramps... mistake. having an Auto drag box it is REALLY difficult to not put loads of power down. As soon as he touched the accelerator, the wooden planks turned into missile projectiles. two planks on the right launched into the front tyre causing it to explode, the left ones launched and cleared the car- but flew past me and my colleagues face my centermeters and ended up deep in the garage. Funniest thing i have seen i awhile, but was a damn close call! Quote
sexual_sushi Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Ahh scary. I had done the same with my daily driver on ramps. I had it up on the ramps but the space where the wheel rests was too big. So i was reving it trying to get it over the ramp and ended up shooting both large ramps out behind me. Luckily, 10 minutes before that, a housemate needed to move their car so I had to move my yellow car which was originally directly behind the ramps :S Quote

I did it with my GTV (despite trying very hard NOT to), and my mate did the same thing about 2 weeks later in his MR2..... Never again - and especially not with the power and the clutch my Alfa now has.... Not a good feeling when the rear end of the car free falls a foot and a half after the ramps disappear. Quote
zedevan Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 i watched a friend put his vr/vs race car onto his trailer to have the ramps slide out at the last second, luckily it happened that far up and he had enough enertia the car made it up and didn't scrape the hell out of it! Quote
S30Mike Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Yeah this almost ended up being a Darwin Award haha. We ended up sourcing some cinder blocks and used a jack and slowly by slowly drove it out on the blocks, then jacked it back down again. He was too excited, and didnt even slow down to go up the ramp, it was stuck so damn good. Quote
