just want to know has anyone reversed the opening of the bonnet on a 240/260 before and is this possible. i am not a big fan of the bonnet opening the "wrong way" and would like to know if anyone has accomplished this.

There's no right or wrong way of a bonnet opening, but I think it's better the way it is. If you really want to do that mod, just buy a Commodore!

Obviously you think there is a wrong way. :)

I would be such a lot of work for so little gain. Where would you put the latch at the front. The closest I have seen is just the removal of all the latches and hinges and replacement with pins. Works better on a fibre glass bonnet otherwise it would be a pain to lift.

also if the bonnet latch for some reason decides to let go with rear opening bonnets nothing happens. with front it end up on your windscreen and roof.

also it lot easier to work on the engine with rear opening bonnets.

anything can be done. wouldnt be too hard wth few donor hinges, bonnet striker and lock.

just of top of my head i prob use mazda 929 hinges (nice and small) renforce the air box so u can mount them on the firewall.

than u need to modify the rad support and bonnet. adding the bonnet striker to the bonnet and fititng the latch on to the rad support.

fair bit of rooting around for making it more unsafe.

it has been done before check these out
