when i was thinking for the colour on my 2+2 i was going to go for holden hothouse green or as some call it $hithouse green.

 

even ppl though its ugly i still wanted it. lucky i didnt cause it would have turned out crap... seen a z painted and looked awfull same as 1600.not nice at all.

 

the green u talking about is the brighter more flourescent metalic green right? on the new VE or whatever letter they up to now. that should look good but as a warning get a sample made up and respray a panel and try it on different light conditions. if it looks good than go for it.

 

if thats the green u thinking i think it will look very good. it will stand out but not over the top. Nice Wats or BRs should look sweet.

 

Yeah the green on the VE's one of my friends has a SV6 ute in the colour  I like it. Might spray a fender see how it turns up.

Is the green it is now its original color? Do you know what the original color used to be?>Good luck with project and SAE is probably the way to go. Plus you get to drive the SAE car.

Not sure on the original colour, Ill have a look at the plate when i have something that tells me what the stuff on the plate means. Got to get my hand on some of that info is it on here somewhere? how to read zed id plates?

original paint colour is usualy a sticker (most probably missing) on the rad support.

 

other than that find a place that looks like it hasnt been painted (ie:  behind dash)  than do a giggle search on s30 paint codes (heaps of websites outhere) and match the closest hue and than u get your paint name and code.

it must be of 2 colours, seeming it is a 72 with brown interior must be either green or brown metallic ?

It looks like it use to be red at some point in time also.

Just had a little bit of a look just then, i wiped away some of the grease and dirt away from one area of the engine bay to find a darker slight metallic looking green to what the outside has been painted, but what I dont get is there is bits of red here and there hidden away and under the ugly brighter green that has been painted on the car.

Just done a little trip down to the Shell servo in the car with my mate in the passenger, had a magna wanting to drag me at the lights *sigh* pumped up the tyres fronts had about 7psi in them hence the shocking steering, rears were ok about 30psi, pumped the fronts to about 26 psi made the WORLD of difference, also put $10 of fuel in, Just wondering just filled it with ULP should I have put the lead replacement in as well? its a L26 engine just not sure?

Hi,

If it has not been converted to run on ULP and is a leaded engine it is a good idea to use the additive. Valvemaster is pretty good and I think it is worth spending a few extra dollars on 98 octane fuel as leaded fuel had a higher octane rating. I find 35 PSI on the fronts makes car pretty easy to steer even though it is a little on the high side . Also I think an Emerald green would look nice for the paint color

I use Lead replacement in my 260Z every fill but funnily enough my car runs quite well on ULP95 Octane so I don't bother with 98 Octane??
