i've been looking around online for a L28 to put in my 260z 2+2 and noticed that old patrols also use the L28 in the petrol version, anyway my question is would the diesel

patrol motor from the same year (rd28) go in as easy as im told the L28 would. and weather there would be any point going for the diesel motor over the L28

there was an LD28....a diesel L series, but there are very few (If any) in Australia, you would have to get one from new zealand.

the majority of diesel engines in the patrols of that era were sd33 i believe, a 3.3 litre diesel straight six, that is different from the L series.

you could make it fit...but with a lot of work, to achieve very little...

edit: the rd28 is based on the RB series...and therefore would require the same (actually more) work to fit than the petrol RB engines - you can also get an rd28et - which would be cool, but i don't think it would be an easy or economic option to get more power
