Just registered myself in this awesome forum.

 

I am a proud owner of 280zx that I bought a week earlier.The problem is that, the car is in another part of M'sia and I havent ship it to KL and thus, havent really drive it.

 

Hope to learn more about my new toy from you all.

Hi Yoshi, Welcome to the forum. I know heaps of people that live in KL. They all work for NCS (an IT arm for Singtel). Give us some pics of the 280. Is it a 2 seater or 2+2?

Hey mate first of all welcome, this forum is truly gold and any questions you might have on the zeds you will definitely find an answer on this forum.

 

Secondly hows the parts situation for zeds over in Malaysia? My brother is heading up that way in a couple weeks, and i was chasing a pair of fender mirrors for my zed and was wondering if he can find them without too much trouble.

yeah thats a great point. So many of the parts you get from the USA were actually made in Malaysia. If only the manufacturers were marked on the items.

i actually bought this new toy of mine via internet and to tell u the truth, i did not even test drive and/or see the car personally. I just asked a cousin of mine to check it out for me and by taking into consideration that the seller's wife is a good friend of my cousin, i just paid him the money.

 

from what i gathered from the seller, it is a 280zx with l28et 2+2 5-speed manual and from the pics that he send it to me, it is kinda pristine looking ride internally and externally.

 

by the way, got few pics of my new toy that the seller emailed me last time but to tell u the truth, im kinda *duh* of how to post it up here ...

Mate, I imagine in KL with the humidity etc that rust would be a problem. Make sure you garage that zed religously. Zeds hate moisture! And make sure you get rid of any bubles as soon as they appear. Make sure to take pics of any drives you take it on. I'd be interested to hear of good driving roads around KL.

 

I've had my 280zx since 1994. If you look after them they will last for years

thanks mate. on top of being a big follower of olskool Z-cars, i am also a big fan rear wheel drive cars. my other ride is TommyKaira TK25R and i used to have 6-speed manual RS200 altezza and also an olskool toyota TE72 liftback
