ok bit of an update

 

during my day off during the week i replaced all the heater and fuel hoses, got the top radiator hose done but the bottom hos is different to the normal 240 one. i found this out after i took home the one i specially orded in for it :(

 

Then on Sat i did a few bits and pieces to get it reay for normal driving.

rigged up the thermos properly off a relay and a switch. this way i can kill them to let it warm up quicker on cold mornings.

after doing that i decided to drive the car up to the top and finish putting the front lip on and finish modifing the car for the different indicators

 

before doing this the indicators and brake lights were working fine. after unraveling the loom il looks like it had already been modded for the 1/2 orange lights, compared to the stock all clears.while stuffing around for a while trying to mod the loom so it would work and figuring out what wire did what i eventually got it all hooked up right.

thought it was all good, till i turned my lights on...............

the blinker would then flash slower, and when driving down to the shed i noticed both blinkers came on when you put your foot on the brake :(

 

 

after raging for a while my little brother came down and started poking his head around the rear (even though nothing had changed there) cleaning the dust out of the contacts ect..... then he noticed a plug was tucked in a corner that wasnt pluged in....... put it in and vola ...... all lights working fine redy for rego, strange it worked before with that unplugged

 

 

today i wanted to sort out the brakes

 

firstly i noticed that the rear garnish was getting a little surface rust on some scratches, and still had the purple marker on it from the wreckers, gave it a light sand and a quick once over with roll bar black...... nice again, still scrathced , but im over bog lol

the brakes have been playingin the back of my mind that they have been seized. mainly because it take 3 people struggling and it just moves.

 

so went to have a look at the drums, i enlisted my dad to help because i knew nothing about them

 

first we pulled up the hand brake and noticed the drivers side bracket wasnt moving so thought that might be the problem. I took the drum off, this was alot harder to do than it should be. once we got it off sure enough the hub span freely

 

i backed off a little pretension

 

the wheel cylinder still felt siezed, my dad pressed the brake, and the cylinder finally moved, before the seal broke and it started leaking fluid .. ie dead

 

so im going to order new wheel cylinders and try again, hopefully that sorts out the issue, the handbrake cable still isnt moving on the drivers side, but we cant sort that out till the wheel cylinders are changed over.

 

 

hand brake lever is still stiff and not moving even after the cable is disconected, might have to give that a hit of wd40

after i did this i also got the horn working thougha bit of wire tracing

tis becomeing more roadworthy by the day :D

Thats good news mate. Where did you get the clear front indicators from and are you going to stay front bumper-less???

 

It's looking more and more complete every post.

its slowly coming together  ;D

 

the clear indicators came with the car i had a set with all clear (only 1 bulb) but they were in really bad nick and cracked, lucky it came with the spare 1/2 orange ones,

 

 

at least it looks more like a blinker now so less hassles
