Beware....240Z 'EFI manifold' on e-bay

Obviously 240Z's were never fitted with EFI, but this manifold is a variant I've only ever seen on imported L28's from Japan. Despite what the seller says, it's actually a twin TB manifold (progressive butterflies) and also cannot be easily made to work with R30 or 280ZX loom, etc.....for starters there's no cold start injector and nowhere to put one. It could be made to work with aftermarket EFI, but the runners are still small in ID.

 

The engine management used with this type of manifold is a variant of the ECCS system used on 280ZXT with multi-tooth reluctor type CAS and an early solenoid idle control system, the body of which can be seen in one of the photographs below the TB.

 

Only look at this if you are planning on aftermarket EFI or have the ability to modify the manifold. If original, the injectors won't be much good for anything other a near stock motor.

 

I seriously doubt that the seller ever actually had the complete loom and ECU.

I agree with Lambs it is a twin butterfly TB - you can see the lower butterfly in the pic if it was a single at the angle of the photo you would not see the throttle shaft of the butterfly. my 2c worth - however this is not the larger or better flowing NAPS manifold with the twin TB setup so I would say might be off a L20e power S31 so this is why the guy has listed as off a 240z as he does not know the difference between a 240z, 260z and Fairlady Z (200Z if you like) The L20e power fairladies are more like a 260z than a 240z as they have the 260z dash, tail lights etc.
