280ZX Wiper arm assembly

Hi all,

On my 1982 280zx, I've had to replace the windscreen wiper arm assembly (everything attached to the motor), and I've been supplied with new blades from the bloke I bought it off. The new blades, however, do not mate to the arm the same way that the original ones do. The original ones have a clasp riveted to the arm, whereas the new ones are supposed to screw directly to the arm. I could simply recondition the old blades, or is the common practice to drill the rivet out and thread new holes on the arm for new blades?
