ignition barrel problems

hey everyone i got myself another problem, today after putting on a new set of carbs i tryed to fire up the old girl it started but everytime i let the key go back into its running position it just cuts out as if i had turned it off, allough when i held it in between starting and running it ran fine. can any one tell me what is going on.

Remove the electrical switch behind and make sure the ignition barrel tongue isnt broken or damaged. If not, you may need a new switch. Not the whole lock, just the switch behind. Or another test is remove the switch, and poke a flat blade screw driver in the center and try to start it that way.

hey i fixed my problem it was my resistor one of the plugs came off, man do i have egg on my face in good news my new carbs work a treat.
