wondering if anybody can help me find the problem with my L28 engine. i fixed the problem that i first had with the cam beening out of time, now i have the problem there is no spark, so i changed the points, cap, rotor buttom & coil and cleaned & dryed out the distributor with a heat gun, checked all the wiring and you can guess again!! still no spark... im wondering if it could be the ballast resistor & condensor that could be shot, god knows its really coming a pain in the arse, can anyone help on this matter??

If you have a test light (for 12V; you can get cheap ones from supercrap etc) put it on the "+" side of the coil to see if it has power when ignition is on, if ok then place it on the "-" side while the engine is cranking. It should flash on and off to say that the points are switching on and off. If you get nothing, problem is either on the points or the wiring to the distributor. Hope that helps..
