Hi guys,

So been trying to sorry a few issues out.

I have an 82' 280zx na auto that's running rich. So I thought to replace a few sensors while she's off the road. I thought maybe the O2 sensor was bad but on taking a look, it appears there is none, and no harness or plug in sight.

To my understanding an 82' 280zx should have the sensor.

My exhaust has just a hole ( and a small rust hole which should be blocked). So my thoughts are to install the 02 sensor in the pre existing bung. How would I connect it to the ECU if I can't find the wire?

If it's not possible I will just block both holes off...surely that'd make the car run better

any help would be appreciated

Andy

Hi

The Jetronic system used in the 280ZX does not allow for an O2 Sensor or similar.

It relies on airflow, throttle position and engine temperate to manage the injection

Running rich could be a couple of things I would start with the cold start sensor that triggers the 7 injector

Their is a workshop manual with a trouble shooting guide in the donating members section.

Cheers

Would also check the air lines along the intake.  The hoses tend to get brittle and split especially if they are pulled tight. Mine used to go near injector number 5 all the time. Check for a hissing sound. That would screw up the air fuel mixture.
