Im a former member getting back into the Zd's so im looking for an un restored 260z with the following;

 

original running gear. happy with auto

 

2+2 

 

2.6 flat tops or EFI

 

ok with a little rust

 

does not have to be registered

 

any colour will be fine

 

most interior in tact

 

minimal mods none is better

 

If you have something then give me a PM and we can talk turkey $$$. keep in mind i am looking for a restoreable vehicle and not something finished.

i saw these two advertised, they are close to what i am after.

 

my main concern would be factory a/c, unmolested engine bay.

 

I am trying to do a concourse restoration so i need it as original as possible. even to have an old am/fm radio or tape deck would be ideal.

 

its tricky to find these cars untouched in the engine bay area because us Zd guys love getting in there and changing things around haha

Hi Dave,

I have the following for sale

 

76 Datsun 260Z 2+2

Manual

Runs and drives well but no RWC or rego. Last registered in 2013. Daily driver for years before that so it has good bones.

 

Frankenstein engine with some desirable parts including:

 

- F54 2.8L block

- Decked N42 head

- 240Z round-top 4-bolt twin carbs, rebuilt only a few months ago.

 

Was a daily driver until 2013, I have five or six years worth of receipts for regular servicing and other works done. Previous owner stopped driving due to the carbs needing a rebuild. They were cleaned and rebuilt early this year.

 

Ignition system was largely replaced as well, including : New ignition coil, points, condensor, rotor button, coil lead, spark plugs.

 

New fuel filter, and new K&N air filter installed.

 

Interior is in good condition for the age. Carpets and seats are good, also have a new Z emblem shift knob for it.

 

Car has some rust, largely cosmetic but inspection recommended.

 

Paint is rough, but some areas are decent.

 

Engine was installed around four years ago, barely driven since. Have receipts for the work.

 

Nice unrestored example of a 40yo car, so you can do what you want with it.

It runs and drives well, so I think the rust is the only RWC concern.

 

I have also had the dash restored through Dash Doctor, it's currently out of the car.

Also have a new weather seal kit, new console, steering wheel and various other bits and pieces obtained from Z car depot and Z car source.

I bought the car about six months ago with a view to doing some body work and getting it registered and slowly working my way around it but as usual things change.
