GongZ Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I have been reading good things (and seeing some great 'after' photos) about water/hydro blasting parts like carburettors and manifolds lately. I found the website for this business in Dandenong for you to have a look at; http://www.thehydroblastshop.com.au/ Hopefully someone else in Melbourne has had something cleaned this way and can give a personal recommendation. aircobra Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 ended up using hydro in sandringham , cost $170 with the ultrasonic does anyone know if the throttle shaft is meant to be zinc coated or is it just chrome plated? the joiner bolt b/ween the bowl and the main body i think is meant to be zinc plated Quote
GongZ Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 According to the Z Therapy website; "The British and Nissan used cast brass shafts. The Japanese chrome plated them, which helped them last 30 years or so." The diagram on their page; http://www.ztherapy.com/technical_stuff/spotterguides/zcar/240spotter.htm -also states that "Every single carb through our doors has worn shafts - see the brass?" The diagram shows the stainless steel replacement shafts that they make. Can you post a photo or two of how your carbs turned out? Quote
