Pigpen Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I was wondering if anyone has tried fiting a different type of fuel tank to a 260 2+2? I am thinking about running duel exhausts out each side and it looks a little tight on the RHS the way the tank sits. Any ideas guys? Quote
modular9 Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I think you'd need a custom droptank manufactured and turf the spare wheel . Or you could go porsche style and wrap the second exhaust between fuel tank and rear valance. I was under my car on the weekend and i reckon it could fit if you found an exhaust guy with more than the current "wham-bam-thankyou-maam" approach. Quote
sco_aus Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 The custom tanks arnt that expensive to buy, but fitting it will probly cost a bit more. In the end, it wouldnt be that hard or expensive though. The custom exhaust will cost more than the tank if they use good quality stainless. Quote
620Z Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Sco and Modular9 seem to be spot on with their advise. I have a custom alloy tank set in the middle of the rear of my 2+2. I threw out the spare wheel well and put in the custom tank. After a small mod to the rear cross member supporting the rear diff I manage to now run a twin exhaust on my car and have done for around 8 years. Looks good, everything is central plus I needed the capacity to run twin 2.5" exhaust. So it can be done. PM me if you want some detailed pics. Quote
