Seeing what can be achieved by many owners with these motors has really inspired me & would love to certainly get any advice n how I can improve from std to something special. neRok Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Howdy If you are looking for engine performance, there are a few patrols with turbo L28 getting around. You may be able to find some build threads on http://patrol4x4.com and http://outerlimits4x4.com. There was also a bloke on patrol4x4 from [some European country I am forgetting right now] that built an L28-based stroker for his sprung-over MK. Unfortunately he sold the engine recently (before using it) as he is going to convert to some newish BMW motor. EFI is a good option for a 4x4, as carbies of any sort can give drama when exposed to angles. So whilst all the triple-carb setups you seen on zeds might look sweet and perform good, I suspect they will be terrible offroad. If you are looking to improve the 4x4 aspect, there is some good reading and helpful people on patrol4x4.com. You can also check out the MQ wiki at http://mq-patrol.com for lots of good info. Quote
