ryn004 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I want to buy KSport weld on coilovers for my 260z 2by2. I want to keep my original struts intact and manage to source 240Z struts to cut up. Before buying and shipping them over am I safe in saying they are the same for my application? Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 You haven't searched this topic have you? It's been covered, more or less, before. 240Z (S30) struts have 51mm tubes, 260Z (RS30 & GRS30) have 55mm tubes. Also, the 240Z rear struts are MUCH shorter than the later 260Z items, so if you fit the 240Z struts to your 2+2 you'll be dragging the fuel tank on the ground... And 240Z rear hub housings arn't as robustly cast as the later 260Z rear hubs. Quote
ryn004 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 So if I understand correctly the 51mm KSport kit will only fit the 240Z struts which will still mount on the 260Z. I will just have a problem with the lower quality hubs. Do you know of any coilover kits for the 55mm struts? Referring to: http://www.k-sportracing.com/type-shock-list.html#NISSAN Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Where are you located? Please add it to your profile. 55mm kit: http://www.otomoto.com.au/p/4116536/hsd-55mm-sleeve-kit-.html Post 1974 260Z's & 2+2 all had taller rear strut towers, so the earlier struts won't bolt in (without large modifications). ryn004 Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 The length of the struts are not an issue since they will be cut to fit the KSport kits. But gonna check with TechnoToyTuning, and check total costs with shipping. Maybe for an extra bit it'll be worth getting a compelte kit. Quote
