skipz Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Has anyone tackled making an adjustable lower control arm using the original LCA? Something like the picture (which I noticed on ebay). I'm contemplating giving it a go, as I'm interesting in adjustability, but am a little concerned about added harshness due to the off the shelf rod end / rose joint style ones (is there any added harshness - for a street car). Having a spare set lying around, I thought I'd make up a 'negative suspension jig thingy' (ala project binky) and then hack, chop, weldy weldy... Just thought I'd see if anyone has any experience to draw on first before starting. Quote

Cut the LCA in half and remove a good few inches from the back half. Weld a rod onto the bushing cylinder and another on to the front half of the LCA. threaded sleeve to join the two Quote
d3c0y Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 The adjust ability will be very similar to an after market arm, as they just have a rose joint in the end of them too. It all depends on where you cut the end of the arm too. Yes there will be a little more noise etc but i don't think it's a big deal, especially if you are only adding two rose joints. I went to rose jointed castor rods and couldn't believe the difference in the steering. I have now fitted full rose joint suspension to my car. You can do it to the rear control arms too... BUT buy the time you buy quality rose joints and go through the pain and effort to measure it all and set it all up wouldn't just be easier to buy some T3 ones? Something like this: Quote
