420BRB Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 best oil to use and petrol for a standard L24? I am very new to this and i want to make sure im doing everything right. Ive done some research and people are adv me of some different things.. Can anyone here confirm the best options for oil and petrol Quote
PZG302 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I would use 98 for petrol, as I use in all my cars, better mileage than 91 and 95 by enough that the cost difference is nothing. For oil, Penrite, what the web site recommends, it will have enough zinc for what you want. This is for a standard motor. For highly modified or race motor you may need to spend a lot more for an oil like Joe Gibbs. The Penrite is relatively cheap for a good quality oil, it's what I use for my MX5 and will be using in my Charger. Hope this helps. Quote

If not (& it still has the brass seats fitted) make sure you add a Lead additive to the fuel. Quote

pauly_adams Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 head needs to come off etc to do those, also I would say 98 fuel and penrite hpr 15 if it has recently been rebuilt or if she is a bit tied hpr20 Quote
