Hi All,

 

So I have an F54 block currently with dished pistons and an N42 head.  I was using this as a test bed using twin SU's then triple webers, standard camshaft then a 72 degree cam.  In the mean time I have been collecting heads as they have come up.

 

Long story short and the main question I have is in terms of porting, how much can you take out of an E30 head without damaging the water jackets etc.  I am contemplating going down this road and installing the larger N42 valves, then swapping out the dished for flat top pistons.  I know others have many other ideas and options but I am experimenting with this set up (obviously for the compression ratio).

 

I have a spare N42 head and also an E31 which I will look at later but the E30 has my curiosity at the moment.

 

Bare in mind I know that many people shave down (or have custom pistons) for the P90 heads which have a better flow whilst others shave down their N42 heads.  And that E31 heads are great as well minus their smaller valves and brass seats so really just looking for some advice and others experiences porting an E30 head.
