hi guys,

I have just redone my wiring loom and found the factory fog light wires. my question is how do these actually work? are they activated with the headlights or parkers or and they off another switxh which needs to be installed?

Hi Stivva,

there is another switch that needs to be installed...

This was the one reproduces by jdm car parts...

The later 240Z cars had a switch in the centre console adjacent to the rear demist switch...

Thread here featuring Alan confirms the same...

Interesting links, but really only relative to 240's due to the switch placement. Any info on the 260z version of this switch?

I have been over the wiring diagram and it suggests that they are linked back to the low beams? Can anyone confirm this?

No can do, loom is not in the car, I have rebuilt it from the ground up, and the bay is getting painted before it goes back in, so I am just trying to prepare myself for parts for the rebuild. Anyone with a 260z want to take Benny's suggestion and test the fog lights plug on the bottom of the rad support?

Red wire with a green trace, along with a black earth wire.

No worries, I found what I was looking for. Red wire/green trace, all the way to the dash plug with a green wire/white trace return.

Plug is below, but its $255....

would be very easy to replicate that with a defogger switch and a small printed sticker. In saying that have you located the corresponding connector on the loom?? I dont believe there is one?
