Hi guys just finalising my purchase for coilover sleeves and wondering what spring rates are ideal for street driving.

I've done a fair bit of research and opinions vary from 3kg/mm right up to 10kg/mm for street.

I won't be racing, drifting, tracking etc. Just strictly street duties/cruising with the odd mountain drive but nothing too fast.

My cars a 73 z. Rear half cage, Front strut brace, B pillar and front end bracing, boxed steel floor to sill and rear subframe conectors, urethane bushings with mild l28et (approx 300hp) and will be on 275/40 rubber.

Mainly after a comfortable cruiser but don't want heaps of body roll etc. I am used to 'spine breaking' track suspension from my previous Jap imports but now after something comfortable with decent handling for the Z.

Would 200 lbs springs all round with KYB agx inserts be ok?

Thanks Tai

Hi John. Im happy with your offer and will donate to the site. Just waiting on confirmation with Otomoto whether they sell the sleeves seperately or not and will let you know asap. Can i ask why you never ended up using the springs? Would they be okay for a street driven vehicle.

Kind regards Tai

IMO some lowered king springs with KYB or KONI iserts should be fine, just run a slightly bigger front sway bar and a stock rear bar. I had this exact setup on my zed previously and it handled like a go kart. With 40 profile tyres your ride will be harsher also.

10kgs is massive for street I'd expect that on something fully caged into towers with slicks. Gotta take into account the S#$T roads in Melbourne too!
