  1. The most important thing is not the actual measurement of where the float is but the actual fuel level in the bowl. Looking at the original factory service manual, page EF-18, Figure EF-31 it shows the fuel level to be 23mm below the top of the float chamber cover. Unfortunately the measurement is from the top of the inside part of the cover which makes the measurement very difficult. I purchased a sight glass (plastic tube) from www.ztherapy.com. It screws into the port where the drain plug goes. One would than take a metric scale and measure from the liquid level to inner top surface of the float chamber cover. If I could share the illustration EF-31 it would be easy to understand. The problem with the method most people are told to use, it does not guarantee you have the correct fuel level.
