Hi Enzo, Thanks for the response, sorry delay in responding, lost access for a few days. Vibration not there when fans are off, took viscous fan off and removed studs from water pump and bolted pulley on to water pump with short stainless bolts. 4 core radiator with shroud and fans bought on the net via ebay from a company based in sydney. Came with relay, temp sensor etc. all works fine. Only about 1cm gap between pump pulley bolts and electric fans, but not touching. Had a hard time adding photos, hope ok

if anybody else uses electronic cooling fans, can you suggest some brands that have been used that were ok, don't want to buy 2 new fans that are also cheap crap and have same issue.

thanks for response Richy, I assume running at correct speed, 12V, 80Watt fans, running off 12v system, possible I guess to add a resister of some sort to slow them down. Thanks for responding and the idea, Graham

Hi All, first time, I have 1973 240z, with recon L28, was overheating so replaced radiator and viscous fan setup with new 4 core aluminium radiator and new 2x10" electric fans with shroud, no more overheating but when the fans start they send a vibration through the whole car, can feel it in steering wheel when stationery, and the radiator support panel is vibrating, have disconnected both fans independently and vibration reduces but still there, so both fans seem out of balance or ?? Has anybody else had this problem and if yes what is the fix?? Any ideas, crappy cheap fans or ?? Thanks Graham

Ex Datsun mechanic, This was a problem from new for some datsuns, providing lubrication and cable is ok, the solution was to grind 3 to 4 mm off the speedo end of the cable.

Thanks for response, will try nissan for synchros, I assume that they will fit regardless of which box I have (think its original although probably rebuilt at some stage), Have not tried to get any z parts from nissan, I thought they would laugh at me if I tried to order zparts from them. Will rebuild the box myself, Did my apprenticeship with a datsun dealer starting in 1973, was always surprised back then that most of the 260z coming into australia then were 2+2s.

Hi all, new to this site, I am after a set of synchro rings for from research I think is a FS5W71B gearbox (maybe FS5C71B) (1973 240z) Happy with Bronze rings. ?? are they available in Aus and if yes where. Found a US site but unsure if they would be suitable for AUS box or are they all the same. Really only need to fix the standard 2nd gear issue but figure might as well replace the all while I am there. Thanks Graham
