  1. Thanks guys, located up in keilor area. Thank Leon, ill check and see what comes out of the RWC initial inspection and let you know. Not sure about first born tho...
  2. Hi all, In the process of getting a 240z and trying to sort out my RWC which means I need some stock or roadworthy wheels (has simmons and theyre too wide and high). If anyone in victoria/melbourne might be able to lend me a set for a week to get the RWC that would be wonderful. Happy to drop a deposit while I hold the wheels.
  3. Thanks gents, ill try and get some pictures up this week.
  4. Hi all, good friend of mine is trying to sell me his HS30 and I am trying to figure out what sort of price range and history of the vehicle. The VIN appears to be wrong to me on the VICROADs register at this stage showing: HS30 012L8. I imagine it is suppose to be HS30 01218 or 1278 or similar. I'll need to check the plate out myself again and confirm. Its a bright red (similar to dimitri's car in the below link) so potentially could be that VIN also. The main issue I have with the vehicle is the following: Reasonable amount of rust which requires attention, not a worry to me but will be $$$ and effort. This is where I am weakest with knowledge as I havent done a great deal of steel body work (mostly aluminium on my lotus). The big one: No longer has the L24,, its fitted and registered with an L28. That said, engine is running side draft webers and appears to be running in excellent condition. My concern being the car will never be original ever again. Considering the above, and assuming the VIN ends up being legit, what would a minor-moderate rusted Z without an original L24 be worth?
  5. haha yeh those were my thoughts also. I wasnt really thinking of the repair costs, more the stripping costs to be honest as I realise no one can quote repair until they get deep into it.
  6. Thanks for the comments all. Does anyone know how much it would cost to have the whole thing chemically stripped and primed if supplied as a roller? Trying to toss up how much worst case I would need to budget. Would be nice to get this thing back to a good state. Worst rust I didnt picture because its quite clear, its in the rear slam hatch corner as most cars have. 5cm x 5cm area would need replacement and welded in.
  7. 240z which needs restoration. Most of the major rust is in the rear hatch area where water pools. Some small bubbling on door panel and rear quarters. My main concern being the complete rust of the small under-body support pieces which can be seen below. I'm a competent welder and metal worker, can do a good job. But wondering if best to let someone else restore this example back to original (rust repair and repaint). Was thinking to strip it down (engine/drive train all out, everything to a rolling shell) and have someone fix it but no idea how expensive it might end up being? https://photos.app.goo.gl/GD3VZq1OLAaYGi1w1 The underbody shot is from this area here on the rail where the jack is lifting the car (not same car, just image for an example:
