  1. Hi Bob, sorry to hear about this - I was jealous of this when picking up my zed from you. If your brother in law needs anything in Canberra, don’t hesitate to let me know - happy to help! Good luck with the sale, happy to vouch for you if needed. Cheers, Dave
  2. Yeah sweet - thanks for the info!
  3. Yeah awesome - sounds reasonable to me! How would the Holley 350 compare to the roundtop SU's? (performance wise)..
  4. In Canberra - not sure on what they're worth.. - make a reasonable offer?
  5. I was hoping to avoid 'blanking' it - the car will have to have a full inspection at some point; and would rather it 'appear' to have not had anything at all, rather than just a blanking plate. Good to know that some 260's had no EGR gear - might have to look for one of those manifolds!
  6. Hi All, Tried searching, but with no luck. EGR hoses on my zed are completely gone (along with all the other ones) - is there anywhere to get these from? Alternatively, is there a manifold that didn't have EGR gear that I can eliminate it with? Thanks!
  7. Provided what I need is on the engine, definitely an option!
  8. DM sent
  9. Hi - semi-interested - I have a 'reported running, but never seen running' type engine. I am needing some EGR components to at minimum get it running, but thinking a spare engine might be better - are you able to send me some detailed pics of the intake/carb side? Any ideas of km's, compression etc? Also hard because I'm in Canberra, when is your deadline for moving? Cheers, Dave
  10. Hi all, Recently purchased my first S30 - along with her came a bunch of spare parts. Initially I was quite excited about the idea of EFI, however have decided that as this is the first 'thing' i've ever owned without a computer in it, I want to keep it that way! So as this gear isn't aligned with my vision - its better off in someone else' project. Since I'm new to the scene; hoping everyone can give me some guidance with prices/confirming the parts are what I think they are. EFI Manifold & ECU (ECU has L24 written on it - not sure?) Fuel rails etc all appear intact. 240K downdraft manifold & spare carbies (one carbie is dismantled, other complete - not sure if these are infact off of the 240k?) Thanks all!
  11. Interesting read - pity; I'd really like an easy solution!
  12. Can't wait to hear the results!
  13. Wow - thanks for the comprehensive reply! What a pity - I knew a miracle would be too good to be true! Has anyone actually used passive cathodic protection on a zed before? Its something I'll definitely have to do some more research on. Thanks again!
  14. Hi All, I'm doing some research in anticipation of purchasing a 260Z project. I have previously seen electronic rust prevention kits for 4x4's that do a lot of beach driving etc. They're rather expensive, but thought that they could have a very valid application to an old zed. Has anyone played around with this type of rust prevention on an older vehicle? The gear that I was looking at is from ERPS Thoughts, comments etc?
  15. Thats incredible - where do you begin to find things like this? Thanks for the heads up - I truly appreciate it. As gav240z mentioned; its probably for too deep a can of worms. And if he's not negotiable on price, it's a lot of money for car which will require almost every part aside the shell both sourced and replaced. Although if it were truly rust free, it could be a great starting point - but I think that becomes a bigger project than I'd ideally like. Thanks mate - a pity about those cars; interesting read. And I think I tend to agree with you on the fire damaged car. Will just have to keep looking! - Something will turn up eventually. I've been having an internal argument about the 2 seater vs 2+2 - I love the lines that the 2 seater has (and had a 2 seater 300zx when I was younger), but was thinking about being able to actually use it - with my partner, myself and my pupper; the 2+2 makes much more sense, is far more plentiful, and considerably cheaper... Fingers crossed something comes up! Thanks
  16. I had seen this; as nice as it would be rust-free - Its a lot of money for something I would be looking to sourcing anoriginal engine/gearbox to get back into it. If the asking price was considerably less, I would consider it - but unfortunately its out budget for what it is (for me anyway). Hopefully I'm not biting off more than I can chew; however I think my stubbornness in finishing a project will prevail. What do you mean by NOS sections? I should re-iterate, I'm not against rust altogether - I'm just cognizant of the amount of rust that I bite off.
  17. Hi all, I've decided that I'm at a point in my life where I can take on my dream project car. I'm after a 2 seater, manual, 260Z (a winning combo). Realistically the only condition that concerns me is rust - otherwise I'm quite open to what could be a considerable amount of work. I'm willing to travel for the right car/price. Kind Regards, Dave
