  1. Hi, I've sent you a PM as I'm interested. Cheers, Al
  2. Haha yeah Ive Heard it referred to as that before. I quite like it, it's a bit different to most of the 105's you see about, and it really suits the car. Gav, yes they do look quite similar, although the safari gold appears to have a bit more orange in it. Lovely car by the way! I am a bit of a stickler for originality and plan on keeping is car as original as possible.
  3. It's Giallo Ocra (AR219). It's kind of a mustardy yellow. Will hopefully look like the attached pic when I'm done
  4. Some photos of how the car was when it came into my possession... Currently it's all stripped to shell bar the drivetrain, which is next to come out. Then the fun of rust repairs begins....
  5. Such a shame, I feel for the owner. I don't think that was it, unless it has been modified substantially. The wheels, side mirror and seats are all different as well as the side stripes have been removed. The number plate rings a bell but I have no idea if that means anything.
  6. Thanks, I can't wait to get really stuck in. While I find the disassembly therapeutic, the real enjoyment is when you start restoring stuff! Work and life has gotten in the way the last six months, but from next week I plan on really getting going... I'll post some pics when I'm back home.
  7. Hi guys, Unfortunately was a rusted out wreck when I took possession of it, so can't comment on comparison to the Z. I'm currently in the process of stripping it down, interior is out along with most of the bright work etc, so really only have to pull the engine and drive train before getting to work on the body. It is pretty beat up, but it is 100% complete and original, so a good base to start from. Unfortunately my wife has concocted the rule that I can only have two cars at one time (wrecks are counted as a car) so the 240z acquisition will have to wait a while. A shame cause there's an stripped one on gumtree that interests me. The original Z I had did not have a roll cage when I sold it, but I do recall it had five spoke wheels painted white. Cheers guys!
  8. Thanks, Unfortunately I don't have any photos of it as I lost them all along the way. It was a white 240z with red and blue racing stripes down the sides of the car, about 1.5 inches Thick, with a 1 inch gap. When I sold it it had racing buckets and a L28 with the SU type carbies. Cheers
  9. hi all, Name is Alan, from Adelaide. Have been a long time Z fan, and used to own a 1971 240z which I (stupidly) sold around ten years ago. I plan to eventually get another 240z, however I am currently restoring a 1750 GTV. I'd also love to hear how my old car is going if anyone here on the forums owns it. It was white with red and blue stripes down both sides (can't recall rego number). Great site, with lots of good information. Cheers Al
