The Hakosuka really is a great car, the car i drove had some aftermarket enhancements and it rode and handled exceptionally well. I was lucky enough to drive a NSX the year before in Japan and it has a similar amount of feedback and tactile feel, which for a 70s car is amazing.
Impatient1 - Yeah, both cars mentioned above were hired from http://fun2drive.co.jp. I was lucky to be the first international non-media customer in 2013 (NSX) and returned in 2014 to drive the Hakosuka. I really cant express how amazing Yokoyama-San (owner operator of fun2drive, who speaks english) is. I highly reccommend getting the private tour as they will take you on some exceptional routes that you would never be able to find yourself, especially if your in to Initial D. They will take on the exact routes the show is based on.
