Hi all, After having this awesome car, I am heading back to being a student. This calls for a cheaper and more practical car. :'( I am not sure how much these are worth these days as there are not many for sale. 1981 280zx Automatic Rego due in June, will pay next week for 3 months The good: It's an old ZX New Filters, fluids and spark plugs - done in March New Battery - bought in March New Alternator - bought two weeks ago Good tyres The bad: Its an old ZX Minor leak Indicator / Head light stalk controls need attention - Fixed Running rich The ugly: Body is in Ok condition - minor dents, paint ok Minor wear on the inside - not bad for 30+ years old If you are interested, shoot me a message. I am looking at a car around 4k so looking to get close to that figure.

Bought refurb alternator for $180 and replaced.. Works fine now

Hey all, Last Friday i went to start my car to go to work, nothing....had two cranks and then absolutely nothing... battery was dead. Saturday morning, freind came round and jumped it. Took it for a drive, no problems at all. Even started fine Sunday when I went to work. Sunday night, after work, nothing. Got a jump and made it 100m down the road before the cars just died. Then had to get a friend to follow me home as we stopped and started 3 times as we charged my battery with his car... I'm going to assume this is an alternator problem as the battery was brand new when I bought the car about 2 months ago. But before I go through the mission of removing the alternator, could some one confirm this is what they believe to be the problem.

Looks like all the usual needs doing.. bushes and suspension may need to be done soon. Apart from that mainly cosmetic fixes. Going to be a slow restoration with a manual conversion in mind.
